Monday, June 08, 2009 - The $40,000 Western Nebraska APA Team Championships wrapped up this past weekend with three 8-Ball teams qualifying for the $1 Million APA National Team Championships in Las Vegas while 9 other
teams earned a portion of $3,000 in prize money.
Lucky 8’s from Touchdown Club in North Platte (top photo), Strokin’ 8 from Walker’s Steakhouse in Gothenburg (middle photo), and Frank’s Predators from Frank’s
in Trenton (bottom photo) came out on top and will be going to Las Vegas in August to compete for $25,000 first place prize money. Many players commented that this was the best ever Team Championships as everyone had a great time playing pool and socializing with players from other areas. We can’t wait until next year! Go to the “Gallery” for photos of all of our winners.
Monday, May 18, 2009 - The $40,000 Western Nebraska APA Team Championships continued over the weekend with a very fun filled 9-Ball event. 22 teams competed for 1 of 3 available slots to the $1 Million APA National Team Championships in
Las Vegas. Excitement filled the room early when we announced that for the first time ever, we would pay the 3rd place teams a “celebration purse” of $250 per team in the 9-Ball and upcoming 8-Ball Open events, adding a combined
$2,250 to the Western Nebraska APA Team Championships! So when all was said and done, 9 of the 22 teams placed in the prize tiers. Those teams coming out on top and advancing to the $1 Million APA National Team Championships include The Rack Offs from Bowl Mor in Alliance (top photo), Wy Knots from The Wooden Keg in Kimball (middle photo) and Handy Shooters from Jimmy’s in Sidney (bottom photo). This tournament was really a special event as many players commented that they have never seen such a high level of friendship, sportsmanship and camaraderie between all of the teams. Go to the “Gallery” to see photos and “Team Championships” for the finished bracket.
Wednesday, May 13, 2009 - The Summer Session Schedule of Fun is out and we will once again be hosting some great events this session including a fund raiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation that will pay APA players $1,500 in prize money. And of course the APA will be adding money to all of the events as usual
